SPE Invitation 20th April 2020

SPE WA is proud to present the details of the following event.

About the Event

Objects dropped accidentally during drilling and subsea intervention operations pose safety and OPEX risks for subsea facilities. An advanced nonlinear solver (FLEXAS) has demonstrated a step change in achieved accuracy in prediction of dropped object risk and the ability to accurately predict a safe handling zone (SHZ) and impact energies even for complex fall trajectories, also enabling the design of simple devices for trajectory mitigation, all validated against blind field accidents and model tests. The ability to accurately predict true dropped object risk leads to significantly improved risk management, reduced risk and costs for operations. This presentation focuses on the technical benefits of applying FLEXAS based dropped object analysis and presents a business case for Industry collaboration that leads to further reduction in cost and risk and to optimize field layouts.
