SPE WA April ’18 Technical Luncheon – Real-time Drilling Optimisation

Speaker – Abhijit Barhate & Piyush Patel

Abhijit is a co-founder of Drill Insight, an Australian company based in Perth. He holds B. Chem.Eng (Hons) and Master’s degree in Oil and Gas Engineering from the UWA Perth. He has over 12 years of field, design and modeling experience in full life cycle of oil and gas field development, from drilling and exploration to start up. Most of his career, he worked on the field on drilling as well as production optimisation and found passion in dynamic simulation driven well modeling to solve well control, drilling, production problems and improve drilling, production efficiency. As a well modeling specialist, he provided his expertise to companies like Baker Hughes, Woodside Energy Limited, WG Kenny, Shell, Hess in Australia, STOS in New Zealand. In-fact he has won awards for successfully conducting risks and hazards free managed pressure drilling operations for HPHT and depleted wells.

Piyush is a co-founder of Drill Insight, and the specialist for the Well Contingency, Production Technology, and real-time solution related services. He is a proud alumnus of premier institute IIT and holds Master of Technology degree in Advanced Digital Solution and has been working with technology and innovation-driven organisations for over 15 years. He has worked on Real-time Assurance Solution for both Subsea Production system and drilling operation with his proficiency on Digital Decision Support Solution, Dynamic Simulation, Flow Assurance and Operation Excellence.
