Well Abandonment – Puffin Field Case Study – August Technical Luncheon

Claudio has been involved in well abandonments for the last eight years both from a LWI (Light Weight Intervention) and rig based aspect. His last project was the abandonment of the Puffin Field for Sinopec Australia. He is now working, among other projects, on the decommissioning of the Puffin field subsea infrastructure also for Sinopec.
Abstract:
AGR was contracted by Sinopec to manage the well P&A of the Puffin field last year. Even that the wells were less than 10 years old the downhole condition encountered was well below expectation. This case study offers an overview of how the project was planned, the methodologies used and the challenges encountered during the execution of the Puffin well P&A. The presentation concludes with a presentation of the key lessons learnt.
