SPE WA Young Professionals committee aim to support and develop young professionals in the Energy industry. We look to provide avenues for technical and soft skill development, as well as networking with peers across the industry.
The Technical 101 series, are a series of lunch and learn events that are returning in 2022! The events are aimed to provide broad overviews in a range of topics in a ‘101’ format. E.g. Well Barriers and Safety Valves and Basic of FEED.
Alongside these technical sessions, the development of soft skills is also crucial so we ensure there are a number of networking opportunities provided to our members. We host joint networking events, partnered with firms involved with the petroleum industry as well as other industry societies. Events such as the joint SPE YP and SUT YES! Quiz Night provide a platform for like minded YPs to network with their peers in an informal setting.
We understand that life isn’t just about networking and developing technical skills so the SPE WA YP team aims to host a number of social events throughout the year. From formal events to more informal events like our ‘Happy Hour’ drinks, there is an abundance of opportunities for our newer members of the industry to expand their professional network in a relaxed, social setting.
