It will be followed by the election of the 2026-2027 Chair and the Board. All members are encourage to attend this important part of the evening. The AGM will be held from 5pm to 5.20pm followed by the seminar.
Hosted by SPE WA Gaia Sustainability hear from the well-known industry senior executive and passionate climate advocate Yvette Manolas talk about Methane Emissions – The hidden climate lever
Yvette will talk about why Methane has become one of the most urgent climate policy issues for energy, agriculture and waste systems. It has a shorter atmospheric lifespan than carbon dioxide, but it is far more powerful over the near term. That makes methane emissions reductions one of the fastest levers available to slow warming. With upstream activities being responsible for 80% of oil and gas methane, this makes them the top priority for action and for focus by Petroleum Engineers.
After Yvette’s short presentation she will join an engaging “fireside” chat, and take questions and comments from the audience.
