Society of Petroleum Engineers Western Australia together with ERL and AIEN are proud to present the details of our March 2025 SPE WA Technical Meeting.

About the Presentation:

We are delighted to invite you to join our upcoming ‘Energy trilemma’ seminar in Perth. During this event, we will explore the challenges faced by policy makers and private enterprises in balancing security, sustainability, and affordability in the energy transition. The ongoing global conflict, change in the US administration, and the rapid pace of the energy transition have heightened the need for energy security, raising questions about where the balance truly lies in today’s world.

Our first speaker, John Zadkovich, will provide an introduction to the energy trilemma and address the main global drivers behind policy considerations.

Our second speaker, Nick Dingemans, will bring matters closer to home and discuss Asia PAC’s path to net zero, especially in the context of COP29.

Our final speaker, Luke O’Callaghan, will discuss the key energy issues for the Western Australian domestic market, not least the WA power sector.

About the Speakers:

John, originally a Perth lawyer, advises on a range of energy, trade and finance matters, with particular expertise in international commercial arbitration, investigations and public international law. https://www.shlegal.com/people/john-zadkovich

He advises on cross-border and emerging market transactions in the energy, natural resources and infrastructure sectors with a particular focus on decarbonisation. https://www.shlegal.com/people/nick-dingemans

Luke is an experienced corporate and commercial lawyer with particular experience in the WA power and gas sectors.
