A half-day event with a range of international subject matter experts
Logs are the primary tool from geologists and engineers to understand the lateral and vertical distribution of reservoirs, source rocks and seals. This understanding is critical in identifying new prospects and maximising production from existing fields.
This Master Class has assembled 12 excellent speakers with a combined industry experience exceeding 300 years, covering a wide range of topics with scales from seismic down to core plugs. There will be an opportunity to quiz all speakers.
Tentative agenda:
11:00-11:20 | History of use of logs by geologists | Gerry McGann, Incremental Oil and Gas |
11:20-11:40 | Challenges in log correlation | Ed Hooper, Woodside |
11:40-12:00 | Environments of deposition from logs | Mike Walker, Walker Petrophysics |
12:00-12:30 | Questions
12:30-13:00 | Lunch break
13:00-13:20 | Log signatures of key stratigraphic surfaces | Martin Kennedy |
13:20-13:40 | Seismic and logs to build geological models | Sagar Ronghe, Down under geosolutions |
13:40-14:00 | Source rock Quantification from logs | Irina Emelyanova, CSIRO |
14:00-14:30 | Questions, coffee
