Dynamic simulation – Challenging the “just do this” approach

Over the last decade, the use of dynamic simulation has been increasing in our industry and now operators are using dynamic simulation at different stages of projects. This presentation will focus on examples of how dynamic simulation has been used successfully to support operations through the life cycle of projects, e.g. from well clean‑up, field start‑up, production operations, right through to field abandonment. Thanks to dynamic simulation, the “just do this” approach is rapidly disappearing from our industry.

About our Speaker: Rio Yokote

Rio is the Senior Petroleum Engineer for Eni Australia in their operations department. He has 20 years of industry experience in a wide variety positions. His experience includes operations engineering support for daily production, planning and supervising various offshore operations, e.g. DST, completion clean‑up, field start‑up, well intervention, wireline logging, etc. He is author of a number of technical papers, ranging from intelligent completions to application of dynamic simulation to support operations.
