Tech 101 Series – Erosion in Oil and Gas Pipelines
October 25 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pmFree – $10.00
The SPE Young Professionals Tech101 series is an event primarily targeted at entry to mid-level engineers within the oil and gas community, to provide “101” level education on topics across the industry. Professionals of all experience levels are open to come, but keep in mind materials presented are catered to young professionals.
This event is free to sign up for Students who wish to attend in-person or online to the event
Erosion has been long recognised as a potential source of problems in oil and gas production systems. Erosion is a complex process that is affected by numerous factors and small or subtle changes in operational conditions can significantly affect the damage it causes with major safety and financial consequences. The industry is constantly looking for ways to accurately predict/model erosion in order to better manage erosion in oil and gas systems. The presentation will focus on different case studies performed in Wood on erosional analysis and potential ways to mitigate it.
Speaker – Deepak Jagannatha
Dr. Jagannatha is the CFD Manager in APAC for Wood. He has expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) focusing on modelling of multiphase fluid flows for the oil and gas industries. Dr. Jagannatha also provides technical service support for flow assurance issues, concentrating on thermal and hydraulic issues, transient, multiphase flow analysis. Dr. Jagannatha has a background in Mechanical Engineering with significant technical expertise in areas such as Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer.
