The SPE Young Professionals Tech101 series is an event primarily targeted at entry to mid-level engineers within the oil and gas community, to provide “101” level education on topics across the industry. Professionals of all experience levels are open to come, but keep in mind materials presented are catered to young professionals.

Abstract
Flow assurance is the engineering discipline in charge of ensuring the efficient and reliable flow of hydrocarbons from reservoirs to processing facilities. This presentation will provide an overview of project activities a Flow Assurance engineer is involved in during deepwater developments. The discussion will provide an overview of various project stages, typical Flow Assurance studies and deliverables, and Flow Assurance Interfaces, along with a case study discussing a deepwater development.
Speaker – Alen Alex Ninan
Alen is a Flow Assurance Engineer with Wood. He has expertise in Flow Assurance support for greenfield and brownfield project development and operation troubleshooting. Alen provides technical support for various projects with multiphase hydraulics and also offers technical services for managing flow assurance risks, concentrating on thermal and hydraulic issues, solids management, and transient multiphase flow analysis.
