SPE WA Technical Luncheon – Waitsia – A new onshore gas resource for Western Australia

The presentation will provide a summary of AWE Ltd an Australian energy company focused on upstream oil and gas opportunities in Australia, New Zealand and Indonesia. It will then provide an overview of the Waitsia field discovery as well as a history of the North Perth Basin; it’s exploration and pioneers. There will be detail on AWE’s significant interests in the region and acreage position together with the appraisal and development plan of the Waitsia field covering the petroleum system and plays, the structure and depositional setting of Waitsia and the phasing of the development. In addition the reserve and resource position will be described as well as the upcoming 2017 programme. Importantly the significance and relative scale of this discovery will be provided.
Presenter: Dr Suzanne Hunt
Suzanne has a Ph.D. in Geomechanics, a BSc Geophysics with Mathematics, a MSc in Mining Geology and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. During her 25-year career in mining and petroleum, Suzanne has worked across multiple disciplines including geology, geotechnics, geophysics, field development planning, reserves estimation, production and facilities engineering.
Suzanne has published over 50 papers in production engineering, field development planning, reservoir engineering, micro-seismicity and geomechanics. She has a keen interest in the integration of disciplines and the advancement of processes and systems which create interdisciplinary collaboration for asset improvement.
