Key Aspects of Sand Control Selection: Several techniques are available for minimizing sand production from wells, the choices to mitigate sand production range from simple changes in operating practices to expensive completions, such as sand consolidation or gravel packing. The sand control method selected depends on site-specific conditions, operating practices and economic considerations, Ivan will be discussing these subjects where he will share his experiences over the years around the world. He will also talk through Completion methods that allow sand –prone reservoirs to be exploited often severely reduce production efficiency and the challenges to complete wells to keep formation sand in place without unduly restricting productivity.
Ivan Munoz: Over 20 years of experience on completion engineering, which range from different sand control application in Deepwater and subsea environment. Highly experienced in various techniques such as Horizontal Open Hole Gravel Pack, Fracpacks, perforating and gravel pack. Other specialties include big bore high rate gas completions, Flowback and Subsea interfaces.
