From Ambition to Reality 2

Measuring Change in the race to deliver net zero

If we develop energy infrastructure the way we always have, we won’t get to net zero by 2050. We might not even get halfway. We must radically rethink the way we design, build, and work together.

So how do we untangle the threads of the net-zero transition to weave a new delivery paradigm? Explore how a framework for measurement against the paradigm shifts is required for accelerated delivery.

About the Presentation

If we develop energy infrastructure the way we always have, we won’t get to net zero by 2050. We might not even get halfway. We must radically rethink the way we design, build, and work together.

“From Ambition to Reality 2: Measuring change in the race to net zero” is the next instalment of Worley and Princeton University’s Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment’s ground-breaking series. Our first paper showed that achieving net zero is technically feasible, but there’s an immense infrastructure delivery challenge to get there.  This paper builds on the five key shifts in infrastructure delivery and explores how to convert this thinking into action in the critical period through to 2030.  It outlines 15 leading indicators of change that will enable industry and governments to evaluate, adjust, and correct infrastructure delivery practices to meet the challenge of scale and speed that mid-century net zero demands.  We also discuss the initial results of the Net Zero Australia project being undertaken by the University of Queensland and Melbourne.

So how do we untangle the threads of the net-zero transition to weave a new delivery paradigm? Explore how a framework for measurement against the paradigm shifts is required for accelerated delivery.
