SPE WA May ’19 Technical Luncheon – The Impact of Global LNG on the Australian Market
May 21, 2019 @ 11:45 am - 1:30 pm$30.00 – $60.00
The Impact of Global LNG on the Australian Market
The cyclical nature of the LNG industry is clearly in motion. The lack of new LNG projects sanctioned in 2016/17, has inevitably led to the next wave of global LNG supply and we think an LNG bonanza is on the horizon. Since the beginning of the year, globally we have seen some LNG projects sanctioned, a flurry of M&A activity and exploration success. In Australia, we have seen a bounce back in operator confidence, with a number companies turning back to the drill bit to replicate the successes witnessed overseas. The industry is clearly out of the bottom of the cycle and well into the upward trajectory. This presentation will cover:
- Our medium term global LNG market outlook
- Our perspective on the Australasian upstream and LNG development opportunities
- Will the Australian east coast gas market be permanently linked to global LNG market with an import terminal?
