Synopsis
The SPE Young Professionals Tech101 series is an event primarily targeted at entry to mid-level engineers within the oil and gas community, to provide “101” level education on topics across the industry.
Professionals of all experience levels are open to come, but keep in mind materials presented are catered to young professionals.
Abstract
In the oil and gas industry, the need for efficient and effective wellbore isolation and zonal isolation techniques is paramount. Inflatable packers have emerged as a innovative technology, providing a versatile and reliable solution for achieving isolation in a wide range of well conditions and formations. This presentation aims to introduce inflatable packers as a technology and explore their versatile applications in the oil and gas industry.
Speaker – Soroush Tehrani
Soroush is a highly accomplished Petroleum Engineer with a solid educational background in Petroleum Engineering. His career in the Oil and Gas industry began in 2007, where he quickly established himself as a skilled Completion and Intervention Engineer.
In 2017, Soroush joined IPI Packers, a renowned organization in the industry. With his extensive experience in Well Intervention, Coiled tubing, well stimulation, and thru-tubing operations, he proved instrumental in driving the success of various projects.
After four years as an Application Engineer, Soroush took on the role of Engineering Manager at IPI. Currently, he leads the Engineering team, overseeing the design of new tools and packer elements, conducting research and development for new tools and packers, as well as evaluating field applications and operations. His expertise extends beyond the Oil & Gas sector, encompassing applications in Mining, Water well, and Geotechnical industries.
