March SPE WA Lecture: Validation of Water Saturation Profile in Reservoir Model
March 26, 2018 @ 4:45 pm - 6:00 pm
Free – $10.00
This session is a one-hour Lecture about validation of water saturation profile in geological/ reservoir model. The session is FREE for SPE members only.
Before using reservoir models for history matching, the model needs to be validated for the integrity and consistency of geological structure, rock, and other static properties. Leaving any shortcomings, discrepancies, conflicts, or inconsistencies among such data could potentially ruin the whole simulation work. Validation of water saturation profile is one of the most important parts of such validation process.
In this session, applied methodologies are introduced for validation and quality control of water saturation profile given by geological static model. This methodology covers quality control of water saturation for both irreducible and transition zones and the discussion will be enriched with practical examples from Case Studies.
Speaker: Nabi Mirzaee, Freelance Consultant and Technical Adviser
Nabi Mirzaee has 35+ years of experience in reservoir and petroleum engineering, reservoir evaluation, simulation of hydrocarbon reservoirs, field development planning, training, and project management of full-field studies. He is experienced in various types of hydrocarbon accumulations: conventional oil, gas, gas-condensate, heavy oil, carbonate, and clastic reservoirs through direct involvement in the conduction of over 20 full-field studies (+40 reservoirs) of Iranian and international hydrocarbon resources. Nabi is a proficient user of reservoir simulation packages; Petrel Reservoir Engineering, Eclipse, CMG, familiar with tNavigator, and reservoir engineering software packages. Nabi is a Freelance Consultant and Technical Adviser to Oil and gas upstream studies and field development planning.
